A studio with a crowdfunding platform.

Yep, in some ways, it’s that simple. We use our crowdfunding platform to help artists garner the resources they need to make a great record at our studio. You get to collaborate with an awesome team of producers and musicians, without giving up ownership of your music or racking up big studio time costs.

Our process at a glance.

Exploratory Phase

You are here! In the earliest stages of collaboration, our goal is to gain a deeper understanding of your network and potential support, to determine our chances for running a successful campaign together. This phase begins with the creation of your Network List. If the list shows us that there is enough support present to launch a campaign, we’ll connect you with one of our in-house producers to flesh out your project details and budget.

Campaign Prep

After we officially sign on together, you’ll start preparing your campaign with your Project Manager over the course of about 5-6 weeks. We meet on a weekly basis to work on marketing materials so while your campaign is running, everything you need is at your fingertips. Within those 5 to 6 weeks, we'll find a 3 day period to record your promotional single and crowdfunding pitch video to headline your campaign and inspire support from your audience.

Campaign Launch

With all the materials and preparation are complete, we'll launch your campaign and begin raising funds for your album. We will provide you with a day by day marketing calendar to follow during your campaign, along with continued support from your Project Manager to monitor your progress in real-time.

Recording Your Album

When your campaign wraps, your producer will connect with you to establish a timeline for finishing your album. Remember, artists are not responsible for paying any costs out-of-pocket, so if your campaign doesn’t reach its goal, we simply adjust the project scope to match the funding we’ve raised, so no one is stuck paying for studio time they can’t afford. That being said, if we end up moving forward together, it will be because Plaid Dog is confident you’re likely to hit or exceed your fundraising goal.
